I felt more rested, balanced, and whole at the end of the retreat compared with the beginning. It was a week of forming new friendships, eating delicious and healthy food, setting aside worries, distractions, and responsibilities, and having time for deep reflection. It is rare, if not unheard of, in our rushed lives to have such an opportunity like this to truly focus on oneself and to experience genuine self-care. I highly recommend attending an Immersive Island Retreat. Your soul will thank you for it.

Yoga & Meditation Teacher

Kerry is a 200hr RYT Yoga Teacher and experienced international retreat leader.

She thrives on helping her students explore the wonder of their own body to find a deeper understanding of their needs, unique strengths and resources.

Kerry incorporates breathwork, mantra and self-reflection to guide her students into a deeper state of relaxation and help them find their way back towards their true essence.

Kerry says: “My first yoga retreat was a catalyst for huge, positive change in my life. The experience opened me up in ways I couldn’t imagine and showed me that I could live my life differently - a life filled with passion, following my desires.

Since then I’ve been on a mission to help bring that realisation to others. I spent 3 years facilitating and teaching on yoga retreats in Thailand, now it’s time for me to bring that transformational power to home soil.
With the support of guides, community of inspirational peers, I know that you can do anything you set your mind to!

My passion in life is to help others use the tools that yoga can provide to come home to their true selves and realise their full potential.”

SHONA CURRIE

Transformational Life Coach

Shona is a Transformational Life Coach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Hypnotherapist.

She is the founder of the ‘Dare to Dream’ online course platform that offers simple and supportive tools to uplift & empower women to create positive & long-lasting changes in their life.

A native to the Isle of North Uist, Shona knows first hand the healing power of connection to nature and is eager to share the magic of this idyllic island with you worthy women.

Shona says:

“I believe that when women truly appreciate their value and self-worth, their voices and actions will create a positive ripple effect on the world and future generations - making the world a kinder, more connected, nurturing, and peaceful place to live.

This is why I am so passionate about supporting women to embrace their infinite worthiness and gain clarity and confidence around their personal ability to succeed.”

Yoga was completely new to me, and our two daily yoga sessions were enjoyable and refreshing. Although there was a mix of abilities among the participants (with me being at the extreme end of novice), I did not feel intimidated. The atmosphere created by the yoga instructor Kerry was inclusive and non-judgmental. Just what a beginner needs. She taught/instructed participants at their own level, and the those with years of yoga practice under their belt were just as included.

‘Shona is amazing! So creative in her content delivery. It’s her true passion and it's infectious.’

‘What an incredible day! Insightful and life changing. I feel like I am floating on a cloud. I can’t wait for the next safe space with Shona! The start of an incredible mindful journey. Thank you!’

‘Shona is very engaging & passionate which made the whole thing much more enjoyable.’

THE ISLAND

The Isle of North Uist on the Outer Hebrides is one of the few places on the British Isles where you can feel so close to nature and the elements, with miles of spectacular white sandy beaches and turquoise seas.

Located amongst the unique and fertile landscape of the machair, this island paradise is one of the few unspoilt landscapes that remain as a haven for wildlife in the UK.

Featured in the recent David Attenborough documentary ‘Wild Isles’, you’ll be able to spot rare birds such as Lapwings and Corncrakes in their natural habitat as you gaze out from our morning meditation spot.
With our accommodation just a few minutes walk to idyllic white sand beaches, you can choose to swim in the refreshingly wild waters each morning.

This remote Island landscape offers rugged, natural beauty; an ideal escape from the pressures of modern life, where you can disconnect from the noise and distractions to listen to your heart's true desires. Here you will experience true connection with nature as you tune in to the tides, ground your feet into the earth and let the wild waters wash away your worries.

Our retreat venue is just a few minutes walk away from this picturesque white sand beach!

GUEST TESTIMONIALS

This week's retreat was fantastic, as I expected, and way more. I've tried new things (yoga, chanting, painting rocks for example), eaten healthy & filling food, made new friends, and encountered aspects of myself I did not know were there.
I am leaving the retreat not only refreshed and renewed, but transformed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I GET THERE?

It's easier to get to Uist than you may think! There are several options to travel here. The 2 most direct are:

  1. Direct flight to Benbecula from Glasgow Airport via LoganAir

  2. Ferry from Skye to Lochmaddy with Calmac Ferries

We will arrange pick up and drop off from Benbecula airport or Lochmaddy ferry terminal to our accommodation on the first and last day of the retreat.

If you prefer an (even more) scenic route, you could also take the train to Mallaig then get the ferry to South Uist, although you would have to arrange your own transport from the pier to the retreat.

You could also fly to Barra airport and make your way from there.

CAN I COME ALONE?

Absolutely! Most of our retreat guests are coming solo - this is an opportunity to focus on yourself. You will be joined by an small and intimate group of women on a similar path. There will be plenty of sharing circles and opportunties to connect during the retreat, however we also encourage you to take as much time as you need alone for integration and will support and provide space for that too.
If you choose a bed in one of our twin rooms, it will be sharing with one of the other guests. You can also opt for the Private Double room option if you'd prefer a little more privacy.

DO I NEED ANY YOGA EXPERIENCE TO JOIN?

No. Kerry will tailor the yoga classes to the needs of the group, ensuring there are variations provided for all bodies and levels of yogi. We have plenty of props and guidance to support beginners, but will make sure more experienced yogis are challenged too.
Our morning classes will be more dynamic, where as the afternoon sessions are much more gentle and meditative.
You are invited to rest whenever you need to and listen to your own body.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?

·       Comfy clothes for 6 days including warm and waterproof layers
·       Loose, comfortable clothes to practice yoga in
·       Water bottle
·       Swimsuit (optional wetsuit/gloves/boots for cold water swimming)
·       Shoes that are comfortable to walk in
·       A waterproof jacket
·       Warm jumpers & cosy socks
·       Toiletries

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE COST?

Your accommodation, all yoga classes, workshops and private boat tour are included in the cost.

You will receive 3 x meals per full day (starting with dinner on day of arrival and a leaving brunch on our final day). We will also arrange a free transfer from Lochmaddy pier or Benbecula airport on the retreat start day.

All other travel arrangements to/rom the island, or pick up from other locations/dates will be covered by the guest.

DO I NEED TO TAKE PART IN EVERY SESSION?

No, of course not! This is your retreat and your precious time in which to focus on yourself.
We have done our utmost to schedule the retreat to include plenty of time to rest and process your experience, but if you need a little extra we will support you in that!
We encourage you to listen to your body and take things at your own pace.

CAN YOU CATER FOR DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

We will endeavour to cater to your dietary requirements if possible, provided we are made aware in advance. This will allow our chef to prepare the meal plan that will be suitable for all guests.

If you have a specific requirement or allergy, please reach out and we can check in with our chef before you book.
